Data collected by the district shows August 2019 rainfall was above average districtwide. Additionally, in a flipflop of recent months, Indian River County, which has been below average for many months, had the highest countywide rainfall total, with 10.2 inches.

The district’s Governing Board on Tuesday adopted its fiscal year 2019-2020 budget, which reduces the millage rate for taxpayers for a seventh consecutive year. The $158 million budget continues to provide significant funds for water resource protection and cost-share projects to ensure sustainable water resources, increase water conservation and protect water quality in springs and other priority water bodies.
