District recognized for excellence in procurement
PALATKA, Fla., April 12, 2016 — The St. Johns River Water Management District’s purchasing division is being recognized for excellence by the Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials Inc. (FAPPO). The district is one of only 13 agencies in Florida to receive the Award of Excellence in Public Procurement for 2016.
“Everyday, district staff aim to strike a balance in water resource protection and meeting the public’s water needs,” said St. Johns River Water Management District Executive Director Dr. Ann Shortelle. “We are honored the district is being recognized for innovation, professionalism, productivity and leadership in its purchasing program.”
The Award of Excellence in Public Procurement recognizes organizational excellence in procurement and identifies agencies that meet or exceed benchmarks and best practices in the procurement profession.
The district will be recognized at the FAPPO 49th Annual Conference and Trade Show in Orlando on May 24.
