Refurbishment project temporarily impedes access on southern section of Three Forks trail
PALM BAY, Fla., Nov. 20, 2018 — A small section of the Three Forks Trail in Indian River County will be closed until June due to a construction project in the Upper St. Johns River Basin.
The St. Johns River Water Management District is refurbishing water control structure S-96B, located at the northwest corner of the St. Johns Water Management Area, commonly known as the “Stick Marsh.” During this eight-month-long project, access at the Three Forks Marsh Trail will be impassable in the immediate area where work is being performed. Work will not affect the remaining 31 miles of connected trails.
