My favorite fishing spot along the Ocklawaha River is flooded by the Rodman dam. The waterline is halfway up the tree trunks so there’s not as much fishing access on the river shore. 💔

Inclusivity is my passion! #NatureForAll

St Johns has done a beautiful job in providing these nature preserves for the public, but as a sign benefit can go birding and observe nature up close.

On May 1, we had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from Taiwan who came to University of Florida for an intensive course in water resources led by Dr. Jasmeet Judge, Director of the Center for Remote Sensing. District staff informed the delegates about the District mission, cost-share programs, strategic planning, and the power of remote sensing in managing water resources. After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, it was amazing to reconnect in person and share knowledge. #waterresources #GlobalCollaboration 🌊✨ ... See MoreSee Less

🌀 Prepare for hurricane season!
As property owners, you’re crucial in getting ready for hurricane season (June 1st - Nov. 30th). Here's how to protect yourself and your property:
🍂 Clear storm drains and ditches of debris.
📞 Report clogged ditches and culverts to local authorities.
🏠 Retrofit buildings for watertightness.
🍃 Clean gutters and extend downspouts at least four feet from structures.
🏘️ Determine stormwater pond maintenance responsibility in your neighborhood (possibly HOA).
🌊 Get flood insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program. 🏡🛡️ #hurricanepreparednesweek
